Altitude: 1,200 - 1,800 meters above sea level

Process: washed fermented

Roast: espresso

A very balanced sweet coffee: perfect as a neutral base for your blend in any roasting degree. A peach fragrance, cane sugar sweetness and lemon notes in aftertaste. Ideal for classic and signature drinks.

Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia varieties from the Huila region, processed using a traditional washed method with aerobic fermentation. Cherries are selectively handpicked, then pulped and fermented before washing and drying.

Golden Huila is produced by a cooperative of more than 3,000 coffee-growing families from the centre of the Huila department. What makes this project distinctive is who does the sorting: the coffee beans are carefully selected by young people — children of the growers themselves — who have been trained to build on the knowledge passed down through generations of family experience in coffee cultivation.

This combination of inherited expertise and a new generation of trained hands is at the centre of what the cooperative is working to achieve: a sustainable, quality-focused operation with roots in the community and a long-term view on who carries it forward.

Huila, Colombia

Huila is a department in southwestern Colombia, widely regarded as one of the country's most important specialty coffee regions. Coffee here is grown at high elevations on volcanic soils, shaded by native trees, and tended almost entirely by smallholder families — around 80% of producers farm on fewer than 3 hectares.

The region's combination of altitude, fertile soil, clean water, and a moist climate creates ideal conditions for slow cherry development and the kind of density and sweetness that make Huila coffees consistently stand out on the international market.

The region gained recognition among specialty roasters in the early 2000s and has remained a reference point for Colombian quality ever since, known for bright acidity, natural sweetness, and layered flavour notes ranging from citrus and red fruit to caramel and chocolate.
