About us
Unity Coffee Roasters came to Portugal in 2023 — not as newcomers to coffee, but as a team that had already spent years in the industry and knew exactly what it wanted to build. From day one, the idea was clear: go deeper than just serving coffee. Contribute to the specialty coffee culture that's growing here, and be part of shaping it — not just observing it.
We started with our own roastery, a Giesen roaster, and a commitment to single-origin lots only.
Two years in, that commitment hasn't changed.
Built from scratch
We roast on a German-made Giesen roaster — one of the most precise roasting machines in the world.
We work only with single-origin lots — because every coffee carries the story of the farmer who grew it, and we think that story deserves to be heard. Many of our coffees come from direct relationships with producers.
We know where your cup begins, and we're proud to be the bridge between the farm and your home.
The people behind every cup
Our team has spent over 7 years in the specialty coffee industry — competing, learning, judging, and constantly tasting. Coffee here isn't a job. It's what we genuinely live for.
Our head barista and quality controller is the 2025 Portuguese AeroPress Champion, who represented Portugal on the world stage and placed second at the 2026 European Barista League. She is also a certified SCA judge — and it's her palate that approves every roast before it leaves our facility. Every lot we sell has been cupped, evaluated, and signed off by someone who competes at the highest level.
Behind the roaster is Oleg — our roastmaster, winner of multiple local cupping competitions, and the person who somehow manages to explain the most complex things about coffee in the
simplest words. If you follow us on Instagram, you already know him.
They sharpen our standards, strengthen our team, and help us keep improving every cup we serve.
We show up — everywhere specialty coffee matters
You may have seen us at Lisbon Coffee Week, Porto Coffee Week, Paris Café Festival, Madrid Coffee Fest, Malaga Coffee Fest, and beyond. We travel, we compete, we connect — because we believe the best way to raise the standard is to be part of the conversation.
We are proud co-organisers of the PreOpen de Cata Portugal — one of the country's most respected specialty coffee events. Hosting it means something to us: it's our contribution to building a community that goes beyond the cup.
Come taste with us
We regularly host public cuppings, workshops, and our own coffee events in Cascais and Lisbon — and collaborate with cafés across Portugal to bring specialty experiences to new audiences.
Because specialty coffee grows when people experience it together — and we love being part of that.
